Not sure if you're looking for referrals for hair stylists - but I reallllly like my stylist. Her name is Serena - she works at the French Door on Republic Rd. I'm not much on monogamy or commitment to stylist - tend to go where the winds blows me - but after Serena cut my hair I haven't strayed (unless you count the brief time that I lost track of her when she switched salons but then I saw a picture of her in 417 at her new salon and I was rehooked)!

I followed my gut. I called him back and thanked him for the offer but told him I wanted to keep our friendship more than I wanted him to correct my hair. Then I sent flowers. Overkill? Well, maybe, but I wanted him to know this was a hard decision and not one I took lightly. I included a note that said, "Thanks for understanding." He called after receiving the flowers, gushed about how unnecessary they were (but gorgeous), then invited us to dinner on Saturday. I'd say the extra $$$ on flowers was worth it to brighten his day.

The new haircut had better be worth this or I'm going to be really po'd.

My advice would be to follow your gut and move on. I'm one of the few people who probably know how much your hair means to you and I think you've handled the situation very well - but if he fixes it now, I think this will happen again and the second time it will be stickier. Just tell him it's for his own good - and that your mom will vouch for that!

Thank him for his offer but find another stylist, move on and preserve your friendship.
